Darryl Pascal
Darryl was the youngest of five children and the only boy born to Mossie and Aszlee Pascal. As a young child, he always received what he wanted. I guess you can say he was spoiled rotten. He loved playing baseball and basketball during his younger days. Darryl had a basketball hoop atop of our parents’ garage. All the neighborhood young and older boys would come to play. Often, the older boys would take over the game and Darryl would cheer on his favorite player. I loved playing with my brother and oldest niece Michelle even if we fussed and fought over trivial things. We were so close that if one misbehaved, we were all punished. I remember the times he would sing school songs as well as make up silly songs and phrases. He was a comedian just like me. Those were the good ole days. After our father died from a lengthy illness, my brother changed. Darryl was always a happy person but I think he wanted to be more like the older boys in the neighborhood. You know how first impressions make a lasting impression. He finished high school during the summer of ‘79. That was one goal Darryl struggled to accomplish. However, our Mother was determined to make it happen. She prayed as most Mothers should. Darryl met his untimely death at the age of 28. There isn’t a day that goes by without a constant reminder of him. His jokes, infectious smile, and continuous laughter shall never be forgotten!
