Bobbette Lilly (Carter)

Birth Date: 1961-07-21
Deceased Date: 2019-06-15
Obituary:
Bobbette was born Bobbette Rae Carter on the 21st day of July in the summer of 1961 to Johnnie Bell Carter and Clyde Dean Carter in St. Louis, Missouri.  She was the last of four children.  After a few years in St. Louis, Bobbette and her family moved to East Palo Alto, California where she spent the younger years of childhood. Bobbette moved back to St. Louis in 1969.  As a proud graduate of Normandy Sr. High School, class of 1979, she exemplified school spirit.  She continued her education onward at Northeast Missouri State (now Truman).

Bobbette found her career at General Motors where she worked diligently for over 20 plus years.  Some of the best people in her life, she found in that plant.  There, she cultivated and fostered relationships with the people around her, relationships that would grow and grow, lasting a lifetime and beyond.  Relationships that her friends and family will carry on in her honor.  A truly kind and friendly soul, she strived to make pleoples' lives around her better in any way she could.  She was a beacon of light wherever she entered.

Bobbette married Eric Lilly in May of 1989--a marriage of 19 years.  Out of this union, two beautiful sons were born, Dusten Alexzander Lilly and Chase Michael Lilly.  A devoted mother, she loved her two sons like no other mother could.  She epitomized motherhood and raised two young black men in a world designed to tear them down.  Bobbette's love and devotion carried over to her granddaughter, Sia Alexandra Lilly whom she loved with all her being.  Proudly proclaiming her as the daughter she had always wanted.  Her only granddaughter brought a new joy into her life that she proudly screadmed from the rooftops to the mountains sides.  A child couldn't ask for a better Nana.  She lived for all her children whom she devoted her life to in more ways then one.  From babies, to boys, to men--guiding, nurturing, and loving them to the men they are today.  She personified not only motherhood but womanhood.

Bobbette Lilly leaves to honor her legacy her children, Dusten Alexzander Lilly, Chase Michael Lilly; granddaughter, Sia Alexzandra Lilly; siblings, Janice Denise Bradshaw, L.C. Dodson Jr., Shonn Latimer and Gwendolyn Gholar; best friendss, Debra Tolliver, Tiffany Butler, Davina Dupree and Drena Ross, and a host of other family and friends.
